Russian Blockchain Week 2018

7 June 2018 0

From 21 to 25 May 2018, Skolkovo (Moscow, RF) hosted the “Russian Blockchain Week 2018” forum. Over 70 top-notch experts spoke about the potentialities of blockchain technology use and presented new projects. One of the speakers was Alex Reinhardt who presented to the conference participants the ELVIN crypto messenger.

“Just imagine that you have downloaded a crypto messenger with pre-installed crypto wallets you, probably, do not know anything about. You haven’t figured out what’s what, you just write posts, add friends and put likes – and already you get some crypto currency for your activity.

That is you already own some coins. So, it should be easy for you to make the next step – spend these coins. On the messenger you directly get to the on-line shop section, you see thousands of products and learn how many coins an item you want to buy costs. And here is already the amount you need – here in the crypto wallet. Just one click – and you are a crypto market new user.”

The report of the RT German-language service on the Forum featured an interview by an RT correspondent with Alex Reinhardt whose presentation generated keen interest and a clear-cut positive reaction of the Forum’s participants. Already during his presentation, the attendees started to download the messenger and join the shared chat expressly developed for the Russian Blockchain Week, as ELVIN is also the Forum’s official partner.

Russian Blockchain Week 2018

The audience showed especially keen interest in the Company’s strategy presented in Alex’s report and the details of the new project being prepared that he also covered – a huge service product to be presented by its designers by September 2018. This product is an entirely new round in the crypto industry development.

“We intend to launch an ICO in September 2018 which is sure to become the ICO of the Year. It is a large-scale revolutionary product, and we are convinced that the market has not seen anything of this kind so far.

The creators have set a very ambitious fund raising target. Hard cap – $300 mio… We will not attract just market professionals who are already here and there is no need to attract them anywhere, but mass users. This will enable us to operate freely and develop the project’s other parts.”

In conclusion Alex Reinhardt expressed hope that our groundwork and expertise would enable all blockchain projects to scale up in future. The audience’s reaction to those words convinced us once again that the idea of setting up an easy entry point to the crypto market and its expansion is highly topical. And this means that we offer a solution the entire crypto community is really looking forward to.

Tokens from Sberbank CIB and other novelties of the technological world

30 May 2018 0

Sberbank CIB, the investment division, together with the NRD (National Settlement Depository), announced plans for an ICO test to be launched in late August of this year. Level One is a project that will release its own tokens and conduct face-to-face lectures in various fields – from space and physics to art, fashion, and design. Storage, registration, and accounting of tokens will be addressed by the NRD. The ICO test will be conducted on a special regulatory platform of the Central Bank which allows testing of financial technology projects without violating domestic legislation.

In the Hackney area of London, there is a mosque which now accepts donations in BTC and ETH. According to a theological study in April, the use of cryptocurrency was recognized not to contradict Sharia law. The Turkish Shacklewell Lane Mosque plans to collect 10 thousand pounds sterling in cryptocurrencies during the Ramadan holiday, which takes place from May 16th to June 15th. During this period, Muslims give 2.5% of their savings to Islamic taxes, or Zakat. However, not all mosques are ready to recognize cryptocurrencies. The chief mufti of Egypt, Sheikh Shavki Allam, said that Bitcoin contradicts the principles of Islam.

At Chinese school No. 11 in Hangzhou, face recognition technology tracks the mood of schoolchildren every 30 seconds. The system can now identify whether the students are happy, frightened, irritated, or upset. However, the technology can also determine exactly what the students are doing at the moment: writing, answering the teacher, or simply sleeping in class. The system allows students to enter the school or library without any special permits or identification. The goals of such surveillance are to prevent accidents in schools, as well as to increase the effectiveness of the education. All data is protected and stored locally.

How to get rid of other people’s voices in your head: Durov’s method

28 May 2018 0

Pavel Durov is a world famous Russian businessman. His name is associated with one of the world’s fastest growing projects – Telegram messenger. Some people consider him to be a strange and erratic person, others think he’s a snob and an introvert. Durov is an example of a person who thinks independently. He cares little about what other people think about his actions. And this is something that many of us often lack. Would you like to always do what you think is right and not depend on the approval of others? This is how Pavel Durov does it.

“My father taught me and my brother the value of perseverance, honesty, and hard work…”

Pavel was born on October 10th, 1984 in the Soviet Union. It would still be five years before political developments would change the lives of Soviet citizens. Despite all of the complexities that the Durov family encountered, it was the optimism and diligence of his parents that helped them to survive these difficult times and to instill the same qualities in their children. Pavel’s parents are highly intelligent and educated people. His father was a professor, a Doctor of Philology, until 2013. He headed the Department of Classical Philology of the Faculty of Philology at St. Petersburg State University. His mother worked as a teacher at the same university. Pavel has an older brother, Nikolai. He became the world champion in programming among students – twice.

“Learn foreign languages. This will expand the depth of your perception of the world and open unprecedented prospects for learning, development, and career growth.”

He had to change schools from time to time. First he went to school in St. Petersburg. Then his father was offered a job in Italy and the family temporarily moved to Turin. Durov went to a local school there. Upon his return to St. Petersburg he began to have problems with his teachers and in 1996 he moved to the Academic Gymnasium of St. Petersburg State University. Durov liked everything there, especially the fact that subjects were taught in depth, including four foreign languages. As a result, the businessman now speaks 9 foreign languages. Among others, Persian and Latin. In 2001 Pavel Durov graduated from the gymnasium with a silver medal.

“Do what is truly enjoyable to you, and then you will be much happier.”

How to get rid of other people's voices in your head: Durov's method

While he was still studying in the 4th grade he became interested in programming. And already then, Pavel and his older brother wrote their first computer programs. Despite his obvious talent in programming, Pavel nevertheless did not follow in the footsteps of his brother. His brother studied mathematics and programming at St. Petersburg State University, but Pavel chose his specialty in “English Philology and Translation”.

“The future of secondary education lies in games – computer, sports, intellectual.”

But this did not stop the young Durov from continuing to work in his favorite area. So, for example, he created the resource This was a platform which students could exchange information on: exam questions, essays, course papers, etc. And one more successful student experiment was the site This was practically the prototype of the future “VKontakte” – a forum for students of the university where Pavel studied. The young man already showed leadership qualities there. He became an activist and, according to the other students of St. Petersburg State University, when he began to speak everyone fell silent and listened attentively.

The university compiled a rating of students with the highest level of intelligence and of course our hero was included in it. Pavel received more government and presidential scholarships and also won a scholarship for the Potanin program for three consecutive years. Pavel graduated university in 2006 with a red diploma (which, by the way, is still at St. Petersburg State University) and with a rank of reserve lieutenant.

“…the future of the internet is in the hands of individual passionate personalities.”

While working on his student projects Pavel realized that the world is ruled not only by money but also by information, more precisely by those who own or distribute it. It then became clear to him that the internet provides unlimited possibilities, including the opportunity to work for oneself. This is quite consistent with the psychological profile of a novice businessman. And so he made his choice.

Having practiced on the university’s website where each student had his own account with a list of friends and the ability to blog, Pavel decided to scale his idea for a minimum the whole country.

By now Durov’s attention shifted to the momentum that Facebook was gaining. After speaking with his acquaintance, Vyacheslav Mirilashvili, who was studying in the U.S. at the time, they had a detailed discussion of the idea. The friends decided to create their own project. So, in September of 2006 the Russian speaking social network “VKontakte” was born. In addition to the founders, Pavel’s brother Nikolai was invited to the team. He was needed to optimize the load on the servers.

“Today we know that everything can be changed, and each of us has the opportunity to realize any idea…”

Three million – this is how many users registered on VKontakte in the first year of operation. Since at first the project was completely non-commercial and did not advertise, it did not bring any profit. To support the operation of the servers there was a need for funds. This raised the issue of investors.

And the first was Yuri Milner and his fund Digital Sky Technologies. 25% of the social network cost him more than $6 million. Two years after the launch of the site there were about 20 million people registered and advertising followed. The social network became the market leader in users on the Russian internet.

As he unleashed and monetized his project, Durov began financing startups in 2011 which were selected on a competitive basis. And in 2012, having made a statement that “Wikipedia is the most important digital project invented by mankind,” donated $1 million for its development. In the same year, the sale of Nikolai Kononov’s book “The Code of Durov”, dedicated to the creation and development of VKontakte, went on sale. Rights to the screen version of the book were immediately bought, but something went wrong and the movie about Durov has not yet been made.

“Our values are beauty and freedom. We do not plan to change this set of values for money.”

How to get rid of other people's voices in your head: Durov's method

Durov can take quite dramatic steps. He has demonstrated this more than once. For example, in the case of the famous Russian singer Sergei Lazarev who complained that there was a lot of pirated content on the social network and even promised to file a lawsuit against VK. Pavel immediately banned the performer. Not one of his songs was available. And when ssuch search attempts were made, the words appeared: “The composition was withdrawn from public access because of the lack of cultural value”.

It is well known how he reacts to the actions of those who oppose him. The whole world passed around a photo of Durov sticking up his middle finger with a caption: “The official response to the trash-holding company to its repeated attempts to acquire VKontakte.”

From 2012 to 2014 there was an almost continuous struggle for the ownership of the social network among its founders and investors. It ended on April 21st, 2014 when Durov was informed that he had been fired from his own project. This was preceded by another event. The prosecutor general’s office demanded the site block the community of Alexey Navalny “RosPil” and to provide data on the organizers of the community “Euromaidan”. Durov refused and finally wrote: “Today, VKontakte has passed under the full control of Igor Sechin and Alisher Usmanov. Under the current conditions of Russia this was probably inevitable, but I’m glad that we lasted 7 and a half years”.

“Humanity is enslaved by organized criminal groups that call themselves “states”.”

Apparently, the idea of creating Telegram was born back in late 2011. In December of that year, protests against the falsification of election results swept throughout Russia. The FSB asked Durov to block some opposition minded communities on VKontakte. He refused and was invited to the prosecutor’s office “for a conversation.” Then the intelligence services went to his home.

After all of these events, Pavel decided to create a secure information channel so that he could communicate with his family and colleagues, and at the same time be sure that no one else could “eavesdrop” on the conversation.

Telegram started working on August 14th, 2013. Initially, the messenger was developed for smartphones and other mobile devices. Telegram, as compared with other messengers, has two advantages – speed and security. This is provided by a special method of encoding information. Also, stickers without backgrounds became unexpectedly popular. They look just like normal stickers.

In 2014, the messenger service received an award at the Europas competition in Berlin for the fastest growing startup of the year. By the end of the same year, the application had more than 1 million downloads. And after two months – about 35 million. The New York Times called Durov the Russian Zuckerberg and in early 2016 the messenger service had about 100 million users.

“My dream is to break the national inferiority complex, proving that products from Russia can be massively popular all over the world.”

Using the example of his two products – VK and Telegram, Pavel Durov proved this. But he did not become more compliant, and the Russian authorities warned him about the possibility of blocking the messenger service if the policy of anonymity did not change. After the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg in April of 2017, the FSB said that the criminals used Telegram for communication and demanded that he provide the encryption keys to law enforcement agencies. Durov’s answer was: “Confidentiality is ultimately more important than our fear of bad things, such as terrorism.”

On April 16th, 2018 Roskomnadzor started blocking Telegram. Tens of millions of IP addresses were blocked which caused the crash of sites that had nothing to do with the messenger. At the time of this writing – in the beginning of May of 2018 – Telegram is still working in the territory of the Russian Federation. The head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, said that even they are now available on the messenger service.

“For the first time in 70 years the world financial system has a chance to get out from under the hegemony of the United States, which imposed its national currency on the whole world as a reserve and since then, in fact, collects tribute from all other countries.”

Durov’s plans to create a blockchain platform became known in January of 2018. This project has already managed to attract $1.7 billion.

By the summer it is planned to launch the TON (Telegram Open Network) – Telegram Passport. Any user of the instant messenger service can pay with the cryptocurrency GRAM and store their personal data. Presumably it will work like this: the user uploads their documents (passport, driver’s license, bank account, etc.) to the service which, if necessary, will be transferred to the services which Telegram cooperates with. After that, the user can use the services of both the instant messenger and the other service sites. Thus, a major problem will be solved – the relationship between the authorities of different countries and cryptology, which are concerned about the anonymity of cryptographic translations and payments. Experts suggest that next year GRAM will become the main means of payment.

“I’m basically not married and I’m not going to be because I think marriage is a clerical-feudal tool for suppressing the individual, aimed at embedding people in the system.”

Pavel Durov has an iron rule – no one should know anything about his personal life. Therefore, if any information appears, it is extremely difficult to confirm or deny it. After he left Russia in 2014 and received citizenship of Saint Kitts and Nevis, he is now able to travel around the world without hindrance, which Durov does. 2-3 weeks here, 2-3 weeks there. The whole world follows his social network accounts where he uploads photos of beautiful landscapes (no girls!) Or, for example, half-naked pictures of himself. I must say, he is in great physical shape. It has long been known that Pavel is a vegetarian and generally a supporter of a healthy lifestyle. He prefers to wear black clothes. His favorite movie – the drama “12 angry men.” He is a member of the Mensa community, which includes people with an IQ higher than 98% of the planet’s inhabitants.

“You have to get rid of the voices of other people in your head. We are under the very strong influence of the people around us. Our relatives, our friends: what they consider to be success or failure, bad or good. We must completely get rid of it. In a sense, we must start ignoring everything that other people think or say about our actions. After that, we must focus only on what we need.”

The first commercial and financial transaction on the blockchain and other events

23 May 2018 1

One of the largest financial conglomerates of the world, HSBC, has made the world’s first trade and financial transaction on the blockchain. HSBC issued a letter of credit for the American firm Cargill, which deals with the delivery of soybeans to Malaysia from Argentina. The recipient of the letter of credit was the Dutch bank ING. According to Vivek Ramachandran, head of the innovation department at HSBC, this operation took only one day, whereas earlier it took up to 10 working days to deliver and sign documents for such an operation. The transaction involved Corda blockchain, which was developed by the U.S. company R3.

At the Allen Institute in America, an artificial intelligence was created that can recreate the shape of any cell in the human body. Only its surface image is needed to do this. The artificial intelligence, Allen Integrated Cell, will recreate a 3D form which will help to better diagnose diseases. At the moment the institute is engaged in research of healthy stem cells, as well as those that have not yet become muscle. Scientists plan to monitor the processes of healthy cells, comparing them with those affected by various diseases, including cancer. In the future, this knowledge will help to diagnose diseases at the earliest stages.

In 2020, NASA will send a helicopter to Mars. The helicopter weighing no more than 2 kg will work on solar energy. Because of the characteristics of the atmosphere of Mars, the helicopter blades will rotate in two opposite directions simultaneously. The flights are designed for a distance of 500 meters every day, for just 2-3 minutes. During this time, the Mars Helicopter will be able to transmit information about the rocky terrain and fly where rovers are unable to go. Thus, scientists will have completely new information about the landscape which will supplement their knowledge of the planet.

Unified Commercial Registry in Dubai and other news

22 May 2018 0

As part of the Blockchain 2020 Dubai strategy, development of a unified blockchain registry for business has been launched in collaboration with IBM. Dubai Blockchain will be part of the Smart Dubai strategy and involves the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority. The plan is to use it to create a Unified Commercial Registry (UCR) which will be used as a repository of data about companies. Blockchain will enable every network participant to have access to any changes about companies. This will create a transparent business space as well as easing business investment. The Blockchain 2020 Dubai strategy is designed to make the city a centre of technology and comfortable business.

Birmingham University scientists have found a way to fight acritochromacy or colour blindness. A special treatment for contact lenses has been created capable of enhancing contrast between the blue, the green and the red colours, which enables the eye of the colour-blind person to better differentiate between the colours. There has been no easy and inexpensive way of correcting this defect and colour-blind people had to use special glasses, VR helmets and computer programs. New lenses have been clinically tested and proved effective. Further on, it will also be possible to use a special contact lens coating for regular glasses.

Disney and MIT have taken another step towards immersion in virtual reality. In collaboration, they have created a special jacket which can reproduce to the user a variety of physical sensations from what is happening in the game. Pressure, hug, punch from coming into contact with things and even a snake slithering up your leg – all these can be experienced due to multiple airbags built into the fabric. The computer will transmit information about the kind of interaction and part of the body involved to special sensors and will activate the airbags. The main disadvantage of the device is its weight – 2 kilos is a bit too heavy, especially for kids. The date of the VR jacket release has not been announced yet.

IT technologies providing security and safety

15 May 2018 0

The documentary “I am Jane Doe” was launched in 2017. It tells the story of the woman missing her 13 years old daughter. She was under search for 270 days and was finally found with assistance of a new computer program. Her picture was put on the website in the “sex” section and exactly this helped police track the pimps.

It is very difficult to figure out the traffickers from the huge number of ads if you go through them manually. The algorithm developed by Rebecca Portnoff from the University of California is looking for suspicious ads and their authors with a crypto-wallet used as a search reference point. And it helped the movie character find her daughter.

Very often military developments move forward the scientific progress. Let’s recollect the the internet creation and creation of many household appliances such as microwaves or wristwatches that we all got used to for a long time. The latest technological achievements, created for military purposes, are used by both intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

There is no wind in New Orlean, rainfall is unlikely

As it was recently known, CIA financed Palantir startup claiming it is a charity project. The system forecasting crimes was built on its base. The system was tested in New Orlean where the local police has traced several crimes with assistance of this development. Previously Palantir has tested its technologies during military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq while searching for explosive.

But the first real test of the crime prediction system was made not in the war, but in peaceful New Orleans, in 2012. Having concluded a contract with the City Hall, the company has obtained access to a huge amount of information. Judicial decisions, addresses, telephones, information from social networks, as well as data related to crime in New Orleans were in its hands. Based on the data collected Palantir software has created specific maps demonstrating almost all details of the life of any inhabitant.

It works this way. For instance, the policeman enter a car number and the system provides with all info available both on the vehicle and its owner, showing his friends, fines and routes. The system has also analyzed calls from prisons and all the registered police entries and visits. In this way the law enforcement officers tried to make a forecast, which of New Orleans residents can commit a crime, and who can become a victim.

The first results of using the software can really astonish: the crime level in New Orlean fell by a third in the first two years.

It was discovered lately that neither the city administration nor attorneys nor the locals had a clue about the system due to the fact that Palantir project was acting as a charity project and gained no attention.

And what about civil rights?

Human rights activists and experts condemn the introduction of systems like Palantir due to the secrecy of such experiments. Many are outraged by the fact that such careful monitoring of citizens and the collection of the most diverse information were kept secret. It is for this reason that the company has problems with attempts to sell the product, for example in Chicago.

The company managed to sell it to Denmark in 2016 but the Dutch policy was forced to apply for EU permission because the system does not comply with EU personal data safety standards. Israel was another country purchased the development.

It is possible that such software will be used by law enforcement agencies of many countries if the US experiment will be assumed as successful and all legal issues will be settled.

Bitcoin is leading the investigation…

The police is called to secure the order not only in the real world, but also in the virtual. Therefore, law enforcement agencies have to monitor all the new trends in the world of IT-technologies. So, in the American district Benton (Arkansas) a new program to combat Internet criminals using bitcoin was developed and adopted . Its main goal is to combat child pornography. The program can calculate customers and producers of prohibited content in the “Deep Web”.

The policemen decided to search for criminals with assistance of BitCoin because the system is often used for payment for such services. Transactions with cryptocurrencies are not totally anonymous. They are blocks available for anyone. One of the project developers believes that a blockchain entry can be considered as a standard bank account. And it might help the police trace Internet criminals.

Policemen decided to learn mining in order to understand how blockchain works. It is also cheaper than buying bitcoins and the coins mined can be used for municipal needs.

The UK police is not far behind its american colleagues. A report prepared by law enforcement officials was recently published under the title “Police Bitcoin”. It tells us how the police intend to confiscate cryptocurrency from criminals.

IT technologies providing security and safety

Extortion, purchase of weapons and many other “dark” Internet activities are made using cryptocurrencies. And as soon as the police officers master the new technologies, they will be able to uncover crypto crimes and find criminals.

Law enforcers have to study the books and brochures available on this topic, as well as use the experience of experts on cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

Are you afraid of chips?

10 May 2018 4

«The technotronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most personal information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities. The technotronic society the trend would seem to be towards the aggregation of the individual support of millions of uncoordinated citizens, easily within the reach of magnetic and attractive personalities exploiting the latest communications techniques to manipulate emotions and control reason».
(Between Two Ages: America’s Role in the Technetronic Era. Viking Press. 1970.)

We cannot stop them, not anymore. Of course we can try try to destroy all the work and research made by hundreds of laboratories, but we will fail. Because no one ever has managed to stop the scientific progress. There is a always a person who will cross the line and go beyond the line becoming a pioneer. Maybe first he won’t be even understood by the rest, but time will put everything in its place.

Always among the hundreds of millions of people there is one who will go beyond the rest, will be a pioneer, a pioneer. Perhaps, at first it will not even be understood or mistaken for him, but time will put everything in its place. Anyway all the valuable new developments get immediate interest from the side of military or medical corporations.

Ok it’s time to say it directly: we are talking about implanted chips. Oh, it’s so scary, right? Although here it is necessary to think over what scares us more: the existence of chips or their absence.

Parents are the main control freaks

We all know that parents are always worried about their kids and always want to control them. Here is Iris, a 27 years old citizen of Stockholm who was very worried about her kids. She even allowed her daughter and son to participate in a scientific experiment involving an implantation of a small chip under the skin of head, let’s assume. The procedure is almost painless and a parent is always aware where is his child. The most important is not to recall how the well know episode of the “Black mirror” TV show describing the same situation with parental control ended. But way should it end like that?!..

On the other hand the entire world recently learned about the scandal made by parent from Russian city Yekaterinburg. Having learned about the intention of officials to implant children with chips, they appealed to the media to prevent these plans. The hype made everyone think over and decide at least for themselves and their children whether the chips make sense for them.

What are Russian parents afraid of? The answer is simple: they are afraid of a total control. If nanotechnologies will make available the information about their kids location, health condition and other parameters of the physical body where is guarantee that the information won’t be misused. And what goals will be pursued in that case.

Is that possible?

Parents of the world are divided into two groups. But corporations don’t wait and implant. American company Three Square Market, Swedish company Epicenter, Belgian company Newfusion are already using chips. The employees of these companies can come to work without any badges and let-passes. A chip implanted in the hand contains all the data necessary. It will help open the door, buy a Coke and go online.

It is now known whether the management tracks the employees movement only during working hours or constantly. Freedom fans are going to have it accepted in case it will spread through the offices of other companies…

Try to imagine: you have denied the compulsory chip implantation due to religious or other reasons. So you miss the opportunity to switch on electronics, freely move inside the office building, use toilets, switch on water and so on. So practically you are turning into an outcast. So sooner or later you will have to let you implant with the chip.

Take a look, there are so little internet users that have no accounts in social media. In the technology of chip implantation will spread there will be also a very little people without chips.

Passive chips

What chips are there?

Passive chips are implanted into animals and people for medical purposes. It is made in order to collect body status data and read the information encrypted on the chip. Only special scanner can do it. These chips are like the ones that are attached to goods and don’t let them be taken away from the store. It is not possible to track such devices with satellites.

Active chips have their own ID number and a battery. They store different information and are able to transfer it in a real time mode. Satellites see such chips.

From one side we will tell right away that it is bad to trace people. For the other side are we sure, that such information won’t help save someone’s life or protect a child from a criminal?

There are over 10 000 people suffering from epilepsy that already used implanted devices. As soon as seizure starts a chip sends electrical signals putting out the seizure.

By the way many of us see it positive the idea of chipping the criminals. The he leaves the jail he still has a chip implanted so the police can trace him. The criminal knows it so most probably he will prefer not to break the law again.

It also happens that a person receives a suspended sentence and shall constantly come and check in at the police station. There is no need to o it if the person is chipped.

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks stated once that the British authorities had allegedly implanted a chip into his maxillary sinus, and that such measures have been used in this country for more than 15 years.

And if a person with a chip is still an unusual phenomenon, then the animals are chipped very actively. Here is data of EliteDogs: over the past decade, more than 25 million animal chips have been sold in the world.

Such popularity of devices is understandable. First, the problem of missing pets is solved. The chip will have all the necessary information about the animal and its owner, which will help to quickly deliver the “fugitive” home. Secondly, the chip will help prevent theft of expensive thoroughbred animals.

Are there any reasons for fear?

If we go over the facts we’ve already mentioned, we will get a strange picture: there are chips, they are useful and even extremely needed, they are actively used, but we do not like the idea. Why? Usually people call the two main reasons for concern. Let’s face these fears.

Fear №1. It is very easy to to turn a person into an obedient and limp creature with the help of a chip.

But it’s not true. Scientists specializing in the study of the human brain, believe that it is impossible to transfer commands to the brain with implanted electrodes. Mankind does not know much about the brain yet in order to try to influence it with the help of a small detail. So, at least in the near future, we will see cyborg killers only in sci-fi movies.

Fear №2. We will be traced everywhere.

Is it not happening even without chips? We are already under a total observation after all. Especially in big cities. There are security cameras on the roads and in the houses.

They take you off while you withdraw money from the ATM, go public transport, shop in stores, just walk down the street. So in this sense chips are unlikely to change anything.

So, the main scarecrow of the last decade about Big Brother still looks nothing more than a horror story. A person is far from solving the mystery of most brain mysteries and therefore it makes no sense to try to control consciousness without understanding its structure.

But new technologies are developing so quickly that universal chipping may not be necessary. Why a foreign object should be implanted, if there is another, easier way to provide all tracking devices – an ordinary smartphone.

How to figure out what is blockchain. PLATINCOIN bookshelf

7 May 2018 3

It looks like everyone started to discuss blockchain simultaneously. But not many really understand what it is. We have made a short list of the easiest and smartest books to help those who want to understand what is blockchain, how and for what reasons is it made.

1. Blockchain: Blueprint for a New Economy, Melanie Swan, Olimp Business, 2017.

How to figure out what is blockchain. PLATINCOIN bookshelf

The new technology is so rapidly gaining popularity that it made real the Institute for Blockchain. The founder of the institute, Melanie Swan, wrote this book in order to tell in details about what a distributed register is and how it works.

A book about the present, past and future of the new technology. Two generations of blockchain are already behind. The first one is cryptocurrencies (bitcoins), the second generation is smart contracts and the third one (in this case, in the near future) is a “new” Internet based on a decentralized distributed register.

The author tells how the blockchain works, how it stores information about any objects and any changes in numerous contracts, controls copyright and is generally capable of much that the average person did not even think about. Now there is a lot of controversy as to where and how to use the blockchain, for example, whether it is necessary to completely translate all state documents into a new system.

All these aspects – social and philosophical – are somehow covered by the author of this book. The author also talks about the potential applications of the distributed registry.

The book is written in a fairly simple language, but if you are completely new, you better look for another (alphabetical) version for starting in the world of high technology. But for those who, after reading this book, want to learn more about the technology of blockchain, we recommend the following work.

2. Bitcoin for Dummies

There won’t be any banks anymore. The whole state system will change. This is the idea of the authors of this book who are Wall Street Journal journalists in the same time. Yes, they prognose the real blockchain revolution. The book starts form the history of the first bitcoin pioneers.

The miners Austin and Becky Craig have conducted an experiment. During this experiment they have used bitcoin as a single payment method during three months. The book also pictures the story of Gabriel Abed, the founder of Barbados’ cryptocurrency. The authors describe also the experience of Afghanistan.

Women there are prohibited from visiting banks and some charity organizations pay them in bitcoins. All these and many other stories are the stories of ordinary people. All these show that the distributed register made a new age come to the Earth.

Virtual company registration and other news of the progress

4 May 2018 0

Lithuania is preparing a project that will allow remote registration of virtual companies with limited liability (VLLC). The function will be available for legal entities from around the world, and the technology of registration is based on blockchain. This is the first project of virtual company registration in the world. According to Jonas Udris, the General Manager of the registry department, this technology will provide with reqired transparency and accessibility.

Each shareholder will be able to manage his funds at any convenient moment, because the blockchain will make possible to sell shares without intermediaries. Banks of Lithuania supported the initiative. The project is planned to be released in 2019.

TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite mission) space telescope was launched on April 18. It will allow scientists to discover planets outside the solar system. About 2000 exoplanets have been found since 2008, with a new telescope this number can increase tens of times. TESS replaced Kepler telescope, which was engaged in research of more distant stars and planets.

TESS will also study stars that are 10 times closer, and can cover almost the entire space around the stars. Scientists plan to study new exoplanets using the infrared telescope “James Webb.” NASA plans to launch it into orbit in 2020.

Area 120, a working studio of Google, has released a mobile application that will allow both adults and children to learn programming. Grasshopper will teach JavaScript basics due to easy lessons and practical tasks. As the material passes, theory and practice become more complex. Also, application users will be able to learn how to draw shapes using the JavaScript library D3.

The application is absolutely free and supports the interest of users through various achievements and progress indicators. In the future, developers plan to expand the theoretical base, but they will not add new languages.

New product line by PLATINCOIN

3 May 2018 7

We are pleased to announce that our new product line “Minting-Units” is available. That means another step forward in implementing our strategy, which was discussed at the Dubai event. Thus we open a new page in the PLATINCOIN story!

Our vision remains unchanged – we apply the most unique technologies and make them easy to understand and accessible to people. And our new product proves this – we provide broad access to the unique minting technology. In order to use it you will not have to become an expert in complex technological processes or compete with other participants.

Just three steps and you will start getting as many new coins as you wish:

  1. Register with the PLATINCOIN through the partnership link or
  2. Download the Wallet. Just click the Wallets Section on the Dashboard and download the Wallet to your PC or mobile phone.
  3. Select the Minting Units package and pay the rent.

New product line by PLATINCOIN

The hardware for the PLC-Minting is rented in the PLC data centers and connected to the system. A Minting unit contains a:

  • the hardware required for minting;
  • Your unique user ID as proof of ownership of this Minting Unit;
  • an extended Blockchain single node as software;
  • the installed blockchain wallet with the system-provided coins necessary for successful minting;
  • A controller that ensures the automatic and correct crediting of the minted coins.

The Minting process runs for 36 months. During this time, new coins will be created daily for you, which will be added to your Dashboard – the Available Balance first. After a successful verification and the connection of the PLC wallet, the user can add the coins to his blockchain wallet independently. After paying the rental price for the Minting hardware, we will connect your Minting unit to our network and in a few days you will get the first minted coins.Max Rate indicator will monthly calculate minting coins output and speed. Minted coins will be credited to your account every day – once a day.

Important: when the Minting Unit is paid for, the number of rented PLC coins does not change during the whole period of operation and it does not depend on later changes of the index on the PLATINCOIN platform.

*Let’s suppose we have chosen the PLATIN MINTER Unit and the PLC index at the moment of calculation is 5.

The operation duration is 36 months.

The number of rented coins in the pre-installed Wallet (Hard Wallet) is 10. 044 PLC.

The Maximum rate (Max Rate) of coin minting per month is 83.7 PLC.

A simple calculation: 83.7 PLC х 36 months = 3013.2 PLC will be minted during the whole period of renting the PLATIN MINTER Unit.

The Coins provided by the system are, due to the technology, an integral part of the Minting Process. The user does not own these coins.

The new product line is a link between the network marketing and the crypto market, and should become an integral part of our partner relationships.

The training packages are no longer part of the PLATINCOIN product, but the PLC Academy is still working, you can watch the online lessons and learn new skills.

We thank you for your personal commitment. We look forward to a continued successful cooperation.

Ethereum switches to PoS and other news

26 April 2018 3

Ethereum developers presented their plans for a system update that will be part of switching from PoW to PoS. The update will be called Hybrid Casper Friendly Finality Gadget (FFG). The developers believe that taking into account slow operations, a huge power consumption of PoW and the growing popularity of ASIC mining chips the transition to PoS is necessary in the shortest possible time. It will become the biggest Etherium update and will change the mining principle of this cryptocurrency. Under the usage of PoW protocol miners compete with each other for checking transactions and receive a reward for every successful check. With PoS system every user who has coins on his account will receive a monetary reward from each generated block in accordance with his account.

Great Britain has introduced a truck with an engine working only by burning hydrogen. The model was named Volvo FH16. ULEMCo was working on its development. This is an excellent alternative to electric motors. The harmful emissions from the operation of this engine are minimal, the power is 300 hp, and the full tank is enough for 300 km. The developers believe that their truck will have a competitive advantage over Tesla trucks. The tank with hydrogen takes up much less space than the batteries for electric motors. That means the truck can carry more cargo. Hydrogen engines are not just cheaper than electric motors, but also make possible modifications from conventional serial trucks!

Scientists from the University of California created a prototype of a nanofilm that is capable of turning the heat generated by the technology into electricity. This is not the first device that can produce electricity due to the difference in temperature. The oven called JikoPower has long been able to charge the smartphone while its owner roasted meat or baked cake. But such a device could work with temperatures above 100 ° C. Nanofilms are capable of catching the difference of lower temperatures. The hour of operation of a cubic centimeter of such a nanofilm will give an electric charge to a hand dryer for 15 minutes of work, allow to heat up a diner in a microwave and to boil water in the electric kettle.
